Underwater Cave (Blue Springs State Park)

Seeing Floridas beauty is what you should do. Go on an adventure not to a fake, contrived, adventure. See the real world, it’s less expensive and way more awesome. This is Blue Springs State Park in Orange City, Florida, about 45 minutes north of Orlando, The spring shoots out 200 million gallons of fresh water a day, that creates a fresh water river that is a constant 72 degrees. There’s a narrow passage that starts at about 12 or 15 feet deep then you swim another 6 to 8 feet through a rock tunnel, this time of blackness is the time you spend in the tunnel. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are claustrophobic. Then you swim out into the larger cave opening avoid the trees as you are coming up and you have done an awesome free dive through a cave.

Sometimes there are Gators in the water but you are more likely to find them in the Saint Johns river, where most people don’t swim. When there’s a large gator they usually warn you.

I’ve been posting some videos of my trips to Blue Spring and recently posted one of a friend and I going through the cave you described at 2 minutes. We have lights so you can see what it looks like in there. :)
Also, they put the new sign in this year which is at 82 feet which I’ve posted a video of as well.
