On Monday, World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient Louis Lessure, 93, was visiting Magic Kingdom Park with his family, when he was chosen to participate in the park’s daily flag retreat ceremony. Louis served as a First Lieutenant bombardier in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. On hand to witness the memorable moment was Lessure’s wife, Sally, whom he wed on July 4, 1951. I agree with you fully re: facial hair on the Honor Guard.
Please let me play Devils advocate for just a minute. Not concerning the World War II veteran, but the Magic Kingdom Honor Guard. SERIOUSLY, is that the best we can do. They look like slubs, or rejects. Facial hair should not be allowed with the Honor Guard as well. I’am sorry to judge like this, BUT COME ON!!!!
I have so much respect for this man and this couples marriage! That’s awesome! Thank you to all who serve our country, I can never thank you enough!
he deserved all that honor he got there
congrats grandma and grandpa. I love you guys. happy anniversary!
Who would dislike this?! Heartless…
They are so adorable. What a wonderful couple worthy of such recognition:)
i was there
Aww they look soo cute together!!! 61 Is hard!! Happy 4th of july!!!!!
Lol at how he says “anyone who doesn’t appreciate our country like I do is WRONG!!!” that was a hefty emphasis on the word wrong.
This made my Forth of July
This has to be the one of the sweetest stories I’ve heard
this made my day as a disney fan and a true patriot
My husband and I have been married 4 1/2 years and I hope and pray everyday that in 55 years we are still married and happy like our grandparents and this couple.
I hope I live like this guy has and is still doing
aww what a sweet couple
